This Privacy Policy explains how Gridwell: Habit & Goal Tracker handles your information. Gridwell is developed by EHLB Dev.

  • No account or sign up is required
  • Your habits, check-ins, notes and settings are stored only on your device
  • We do not collect, see or store your habit data on any server
  • The app shows ads and uses Google services for ads, analytics and crash reports, which collect some device data as described below

2 Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is created by you and saved locally on your device only:

  • 📋 Habits - names, colors, icons, schedules, targets and limits
  • ✅ Daily entries - counts and journal notes
  • ⏰ Reminder times and app settings - theme, accent color, language

This data is never sent to us. It stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Backup Files

When you use Export, the app creates a backup file in a location you choose. When you use Import, the app reads a backup file you select. These files are handled only by you and are not uploaded anywhere by the app.

Android Auto Backup

If Google backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may include the app's data in your personal Google account backup. This is controlled by your device settings and Google's privacy policy, not by us.

3 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

Gridwell uses the following third-party services. They may collect and process data automatically as described in their own privacy policies (NOT your habit data):

🎯 Google AdMob (Advertising)

Purpose: Show ads in the app

What's collected:

  • Device identifiers, such as the Advertising ID
  • Approximate location based on IP address
  • App interactions with ads and diagnostic information

This data may be used to show personalized or non-personalized ads and to measure ad performance.

📊 Firebase Analytics (Analytics)

Purpose: Understand how the app is used so we can improve it

What's collected:

  • App interactions, such as screens viewed and features used
  • Device information, such as model, OS version, language and app version
  • App instance ID and Advertising ID

Purpose: Find and fix crashes

When the app crashes, it may send:

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • Device model, OS version and app version
  • An installation identifier

Note: Crash reports do not include your habits or notes.

4 App Permissions

The app requests the following permissions, used solely to provide its features:

  • Internet and network state: to load ads and send analytics and crash reports
  • Notifications: to show habit reminders you set
  • Run at startup: to restore your reminders after the device restarts
  • Vibrate: for reminder notifications

5 Your Choices

Advertising ID

You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads
  • Google Ad Settings: adssettings.google.com

Notifications

You can turn reminders off in the app or in your device settings.

Deleting Your Data

Your habit data is stored only on your device. You can:

  • Delete habits in the app
  • Clear the app's data in device settings
  • Uninstall the app to remove all of it

Since we do not hold your habit data, there is nothing for us to delete on a server.

6 Data Security

Your habit data never leaves your device through the app. Data sent by the third-party services above is encrypted in transit.

  • Local-only storage: Your habits, entries and notes stay on your device
  • Encrypted in transit: All network communications (ads, analytics, crash reports) use secure, encrypted connections
  • Device-level security: Your data is protected by your device's built-in security (encryption, lock screen, etc.)
  • Trusted providers: We only use reputable services (Google/Firebase) with strong security practices

However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7 Children's Privacy

Gridwell is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at ehlb.dev@gmail.com and we will help remove it.

Age requirements:

  • United States: 13 years old
  • European Union: 16 years old (or as specified by member state)
  • Other regions: Minimum age as required by local law

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes in our data practices
  • New features or services
  • Changes in applicable laws
  • Updates to third-party services

Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
