1 Our Approach

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.

Notes is a local-first app. Your notes, checklists, images, and drawings are stored on your device only.

🔒 Privacy-First Design:

  • Local-First Storage - Everything you write stays on your device
  • No Account System - Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into
  • No Server Upload - We never upload, read, or store your notes
  • Backups You Control - Export files go wherever you choose

Free version: Supported by advertisements. Pro version: Ad-free experience with additional features (available through in-app purchase).

2 Data You Create

All content you create in the App stays on your device:

  • 📝 Notes - titles, body text, and formatting
  • ☑️ Checklists - items and completion status
  • 🖼️ Images - photos and pictures you attach to notes
  • ✏️ Drawings - sketches and handwritten content

If you use the backup/export feature, backup files are saved wherever you choose and remain under your control. We do not receive a copy.

3 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect limited data to function (NOT your note content):

🎯 Google AdMob Free Version Only

Purpose: Show ads in the free version

Example data:

  • Advertising ID
  • Device information
  • Approximate location
  • Usage signals

Note: Purchasing Pro removes ads and this data collection stops.

📊 Firebase Analytics (Google)

  • Operating system version
  • Region

NOT collected: Your note content, checklists, images, or drawings

🛠️ Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

Purpose: Detect and fix crashes

Example data:

  • Crash logs
  • Device state at time of crash

💎 RevenueCat + Google Play Billing PRO

Purpose: Process and validate purchases

Example data:

  • Purchase and subscription status
  • Anonymous purchase identifiers

What we know: Only whether your app is Pro or Free. No payment card details or billing addresses.

These services process data under their own privacy policies:

4 Payment Information

We never see or store your payment details.

All payments are handled by Google Play. Your card numbers, billing addresses, and transaction amounts are processed entirely by Google and never pass through us.

RevenueCat validates your purchase so the App knows whether Pro features should be unlocked — it receives only purchase status and anonymous identifiers.

5 App Permissions

The App may request access to device features only to let you use the feature you requested:

💾 Storage

  • Why we need it: To save drawings and to create or restore backups
  • Your control: You choose where backup files are saved

📸 Camera

  • Why we need it: To let you capture and add images to your notes
  • Your control: Only activated when you choose to take a photo

🖼️ Photo Gallery

  • Why we need it: To let you attach existing images to notes
  • Your control: Only the images you select are used

These permissions are used only for the feature you requested. You can revoke any of them in your device settings; the related features will be unavailable, but your notes remain intact.

6 Advertising ID

🆓 Free Version: Displays ads. Google AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show them.

💎 Pro Version: Purchasing Pro removes ads entirely.

Reset or Limit Your Advertising ID

Android:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy → Ads
  • Reset your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization

iOS:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
  • Disable tracking for Notes
  • Or reset your Advertising Identifier in Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising

Google Ad Settings: Visit adssettings.google.com to manage your preferences.

Best option: Upgrade to Pro for a completely ad-free experience!

7 Data Retention and Deletion

  • Your notes: Remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App
  • Backup files: Stay wherever you saved them, under your control
  • Analytics & crash data: Retained by Firebase/Google according to their policies
  • Advertising data (free version): Retained by AdMob according to Google's policies
  • Purchase status: Retained by RevenueCat and Google Play to keep Pro features active

To delete all local data, clear the App's data or uninstall it. For data held by the third-party services above, refer to their policies or contact us.

8 Your Rights

Depending on your region (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to:

  • Access: Request a copy of personal data held about you
  • Correct: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Delete: Request deletion of personal data
  • Opt out: Opt out of certain data uses

Because we do not store your notes or hold an account for you, most of your data is already fully under your control on your device.

For requests involving third-party data, contact us at ehlb.dev@gmail.com and we will assist where possible.

9 Security

We rely on your device's built-in protections and the security of the third-party services listed above:

  • Local-only storage: Your notes are saved on your device - never transmitted to our servers
  • Device-level security: Your notes are protected by your device's built-in security (encryption, lock screen, etc.)
  • HTTPS encryption: All network communications (ads, analytics, purchase validation) use secure, encrypted connections
  • Trusted providers: We only use reputable services (Google/Firebase, RevenueCat) with strong security practices
  • Secure payments: All payment processing handled by Google Play - we never see your payment details

However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your notes are as secure as your device - we recommend using device encryption and a lock screen.

10 Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ehlb.dev@gmail.com so we can address it.

Age requirements:
