Tasks is a simple, private to-do and reminder app that helps you stay organized. Create tasks, set due dates and repeat schedules, and get reminded at exactly the right time.

🔒 Privacy-First Design:

  • Local Storage Only - Your tasks are saved directly on your device
  • No Server Upload - We never receive or store your task content
  • No Account Needed - Start using the app right away
  • Complete Control - You manage and delete your data anytime

Free version: Supported by advertisements. Premium version: Ad-free experience with additional features (available through in-app purchase).

By using this app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. We use trusted third-party services (Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics) for advertising, usage analytics, and crash reporting.

2 Information We Collect

A) Information You Provide

The following information is created by you and stored locally on your device (using a local database and app preferences):

  • 📝 Tasks and reminders - titles, descriptions, due dates, repeat schedules, and completion status
  • 👤 Optional display name - a name you may enter to personalize the app

This information is not transmitted to us or to any server we operate, and we do not have access to it. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted.

B) Automatically Collected Information

The app uses third-party services that may collect limited technical data (NOT your task content):

🎯 Google AdMob (Advertising) Free Version Only

Purpose: Display advertisements to support the free version

What's collected:

  • Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
  • Approximate location
  • Ad interaction data (to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted)

Note: Premium users see no ads and this data collection stops.

📊 Firebase Analytics

Purpose: Understand how the app is used in order to improve it

What's collected:

  • Screens viewed and features used
  • Device type and OS version
  • General engagement metrics (anonymous)

NOT collected: Your task titles, descriptions, or reminder content

🛠️ Firebase Crashlytics

Purpose: Collect crash reports and diagnostic data to help identify and fix bugs

What's collected:

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • Device model and OS version
  • App version and state at crash

⭐ Google Play In-App Review

Purpose: Prompt you to rate the app through the standard Google Play review dialog

What it does: Displays Google's native review prompt. The rating you provide is handled by Google Play - we don't collect it directly.

💎 In-App Purchases (Premium Upgrade) PRO

Purpose: Process in-app purchases (e.g. removing ads or unlocking premium features)

Payment processing:

  • Android: Google Play Billing handles the transaction
  • iOS: Apple In-App Purchase handles the transaction
  • Your payment details: Handled entirely by Google/Apple - we do not receive or store them
  • Premium status: We only receive confirmation that Premium is active to unlock features

3 Permissions Used by the App

The app requests the following device permissions, used solely to provide reminder functionality:

🔔 Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

  • Why we need it: To show reminder notifications at the times you set
  • Your control: You can disable this in device settings, though it will prevent reminders from being delivered

⏰ Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM)

  • Why we need it: To trigger reminders at the precise time you set
  • Your control: Managed through your device's alarm and reminder settings

🔄 Receive Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED)

  • Why we need it: To reschedule your reminders after your device restarts
  • Privacy: Used only to restore your existing reminders - no data is collected

💡 Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK)

  • Why we need it: To ensure the device wakes up to deliver a reminder on time
  • Privacy: Used only for timely reminder delivery

✅ The app does NOT request access to your:

Camera • Microphone • Contacts • Location • Photos • Files

4 How We Use Information

Information collected by the third-party services listed above is used to:

  • Display and measure advertisements (free version)
  • Understand app usage and improve features and stability
  • Diagnose and fix crashes
  • Process optional in-app purchases

Your task and reminder content is used solely to operate the app on your device and is never uploaded, sold, or shared.

Premium users: Upgrading to premium removes all ads and stops ad-related data collection.

5 Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

Data collected by third-party services (AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing) is shared with Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy, solely for the purposes described above.

  • Google LLC (AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play Billing, Google Play In-App Review)
  • Apple Inc. (In-App Purchase for iOS purchases)

Your tasks are NEVER shared. Task and reminder content remains exclusively on your device. We have no access to it.

6 Advertising, Tracking & Your Choices

Free vs Premium Version

🆓 Free Version: Displays ads. Ad providers may personalize ads based on your interests.

💎 Premium Version: In-app purchase removes all ads permanently. No ad tracking occurs in premium version.

Personalized vs Non-Personalized Ads

In the free version, ads are displayed through Google AdMob:

  • Personalized ads: Based on your interests and activity (requires consent in EEA/UK/Switzerland)
  • Non-personalized ads: Generic ads not based on your behavior

In regions requiring consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland), Google's Consent Management Platform will ask for your permission.

iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple requires apps to ask permission before tracking you across other apps and websites.

  • If you grant permission: Ads may be more relevant to your interests
  • If you decline: Ads will still appear but won't be personalized
  • If you upgrade to Premium: No ads = no tracking

Change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

Opt-Out Controls

Android:

  • Go to Settings → Google → Ads
  • Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
  • Or reset your Advertising ID

iOS:

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
  • Disable tracking for Tasks
  • Or reset your Advertising Identifier in Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising

Google Ad Settings: Visit adssettings.google.com to manage your preferences.

Best option: Upgrade to Premium for a completely ad-free experience!

7 Data Retention and Deletion

  • Your task data: Stored locally on your device and remains until you delete it within the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app
  • Analytics & crash data: Retained by Firebase/Google subject to Google's own retention policies
  • Advertising data (free version): Retained by AdMob according to Google's policies
  • Premium purchase status: Maintained as long as you use the app to keep Premium features active

You are always in control of your task data - delete individual items anytime, or remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.

8 Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app:

  • Local-only storage: Your tasks are saved directly on your device - never transmitted to servers
  • Device-level security: Your task data is protected by your device's built-in security (encryption, lock screen, etc.)
  • HTTPS encryption: All network communications (ads, analytics) use secure, encrypted connections
  • Trusted providers: We only use reputable services (Google/Firebase) with strong security practices
  • Minimal data collection: We only collect what's necessary for app functionality
  • Secure payments: All payment processing handled by Google Play and Apple - we never see your payment details

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9 Your Choices

  • Delete tasks: You can delete any task or reminder at any time within the app
  • Opt out of personalized ads: Through your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads)
  • Disable notifications: Through your device settings at any time, though this will prevent reminders from being delivered
  • Go ad-free: Upgrade to Premium to remove ads entirely

10 Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at ehlb.dev@gmail.com so we can address it.

Age requirements:

  • United States: 13 years old
  • European Union: 16 years old (or as specified by member state)
  • Other regions: Minimum age as required by local law

11 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:

  • Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date
  • For material changes, we may notify you through the app
  • Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
