1 Summary

EHLB Dev makes Guide of Istanbul for iPhone and Android. The app is free and supported by ads. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app, by whom, and the choices you have.

🔒 At a glance:

  • No account, no sign up - no name, email or phone number asked for
  • No access to your camera, photos, contacts, microphone or precise location
  • Your settings stay on your device
  • Google services in the app (ads, analytics, crash reports) collect some device and usage data, described below

2 Data Stored Only on Your Device

The following is saved on your device so the app works faster and partly offline:

  • 🎨 Theme and language preferences
  • ⏱️ Ad-free period status
  • 🌤️ Cached weather, exchange rates and content

We cannot see this data. Deleting the app deletes it.

3 Data Collected by Third-Party Services

The app uses these Google services. They collect data directly under their own privacy policies. None of it is linked to your name or identity by us.

Service Purpose Data
Google AdMob Showing ads, measuring ads, preventing fraud Advertising ID (only if you allow it), approximate location from your IP address, device type and OS version, ad interactions, crash and performance data
Google Analytics for Firebase Understanding how the app is used App instance ID, screens viewed and app interactions, device type, OS version, country
Firebase Crashlytics Fixing crashes Crash logs, device model, OS version, an installation ID
Firebase Authentication Loading guide content securely An anonymous ID created by the app, never tied to you
Cloud Firestore Delivering the directory and tourism content Requests for content, no personal data
🌤️ Weather & Exchange Rate Data

Weather comes from OpenWeather and exchange rates from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB).

The app only asks them for Istanbul data and sends no personal data.

4 Advertising and Tracking

🍎 iPhone

The app asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", AdMob does not get your advertising identifier (IDFA) and shows non-personalized ads.

You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

🤖 Android

You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

⏱️ Turn off ads temporarily: You can watch a short rewarded ad to turn off ads for 2 hours.

5 Children

The app is a general audience city guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6 Data Retention and Security

We do not run our own servers that store your personal data. Data collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention policies (for example, Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days).

All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

7 Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use.

Because we do not hold data that identifies you, the simplest way is to limit tracking as described above and delete the app.

For requests about data held by Google, use Google's tools at myaccount.google.com. You can also contact us and we will help.

8 Changes

We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
